Emma Spary
Senior Research Training and Development Officer | Academic Development Consultant
Organisational Development and Professional Learning

My role is to lead personal and professional development opportunities for early career researchers within Organisational Development & Professional Learning at Leeds. This includes supporting fellowship applications, leadership programmes, StrengthsFinder, and ensuring researchers needs are embedded in our provision.

I also organise the annual Research Staff Conference focusing on career management. By sitting on the University’s Researcher Development Steering Group for Research Staff, I advise and implement the University Strategy for Researcher Development.

In my other career life I undertook my PhD in Medicine, following a year working in industry in the USA. This led to me being awarded four research grants and I now use this experience to support other researchers. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have a keen interest in graphic facilitation.
