Lorna Warnock

Knowledge Exchange, Placement and Training Officer

Lorna is the Knowledge Exchange, Training and Placements Officer in the Research Excellence Training Team, Research and Enterprise Directorate, University of York.

 

Lorna has a strong background in scientific academic research and collaboration with industry and contributes to the training programme delivered by the Research Excellence Training Team.

 

This training supports the Research and Enterprise Directorate in developing and delivering training that aligns with the government's Industrial Strategy objective 'to build the pipeline of high-skilled research talent' and with the vision of the Centre for Future Health and EPSCR Industrial Acceleration Account.

One of her primary roles is to liaise, and build strong links with public, private and third sector organisations to forge new opportunities for collaborative research, training and placements.  

 

Lorna works closely with postgraduate students and research staff to enhance their professional development, leadership and mentoring capabilities and is passionate about supporting them to achieve their employment and development goals and aspirations.

 

These activities in and of themselves promote knowledge exchange between Higher Education based researchers and public, private and third sector organisations to achieve these aims.
