Saneeya Qureshi

Head of Researcher Development and Culture

I am responsible for implementing a Borderless Research Community and lead on pan-institutional researcher development initiatives, such as Making an Impact, which are aimed at cascading effective practice and developing the capabilities of all research staff to meet the University’s strategic focus on excellence via Strategy 2026.

I manage activities related to the University's European HR Excellence in Research Award including the Concordat Steering Group, liaising with stakeholders regarding Liverpool's commitment to the development of its Early Career Researchers (ECRs).

I led The Academy’s establishment of the Research Staff Association (UoL RSA) in partnership with UKRSA. I represent the University on the UKRSA national committee and engage with external partners to facilitate the wider context of researcher development provision and communities of practice, such as the N8 Research Partnership and Vitae.

On a global platform I represent the University and convene the Emerging Researchers Group for the European Educational Research Association (EERA). I represent ECRs’ interests on the EERA Council. I lead a programme of ECRs developmental activities, including the annual EERA Emerging Researchers Conference. I am also an Editorial Board member and a reviewer for several international educational journals.
