Director of Research Talent
Centre for Research Staff Development & Centre for Doctoral Studies
Nigel leads a team which focuses on developing 5000 students and staff at King's into tomorrow's leaders and opinion formers.
The Centre for Research Staff Development provides support for research staff to achieve their potential, before, during, and after their time at King's. The Centre for Doctoral Studies supports and develops postgraduate researchers to ensure King's provides a world-class research student experience.
Since completing his PhD in 2004, Nigel has been involved in numerous projects to help researchers at all career stages to be more effective. In previous roles, Nigel managed a large mentoring scheme and career development programme for aspiring clinical academics.
Nigel first developed his interest in communications and development through taking part in, and then leading, various public engagement initiatives - highlights included working with community groups on a project which attempted to give underrepresented groups a voice on issues such as climate change and GM foods, and a media fellowship scheme, placing researchers with organisations such as the BBC, Times and Guardian.
Nigel has two children, one wife and no pets.
